Our Saturday morning classes for 4-8-year-olds are ninety-minutes long and combine drama, dance and singing.

Each term is based on a different, exciting theme such as Wizards, Pirates & Mermaids and Superheroes. The children work towards an exciting show that is performed at the end of term for family and friends. The Spring term's theme is THE MAGIC TOYSHOP ... An evil genius called Peter Plastic has stolen all the toys in the world and Max, Milly and their faithful spaniel, Betty Noo, have to set out on a mission to stop him once and for all!

At Dramacademy everyone has lines to learn and everyone is involved all the way.

The class is divided into three sections:

physicality & dance

AIMS: to develop coordination, flexibility, rhythm, spatial-awareness, balance, teamwork and overall body confidence.

METHOD: a high-energy warm-up and stretch followed by physical team games and a fun dance routine.

voice & focus

AIMS: to develop communication skills articulation, eye contact, and focus as well as musicality, rhythm, pitch and singing skills. To encourage children to speak in front of the group confidently with no fidgeting.

METHOD: Children do a vocal warm-up, play articulation games and learn well-known show songs and poems.

Act & Improvise

AIMS: to stimulate the imagination, encourage creativity and focus the children's minds.

METHOD: Children play drama games and do role-play and story-telling exercises.

Thanks so much for including Sam so wonderfully in your Christmas production and for helping him settle so quickly into your drama group. He really loves it!
